About King Cole Maritime Security

"Uniquely Experienced and Committed to Maritime Security through Implementation of the ISPS Code"

Malcolm Kinghorn was educated at Grey High School and the University of Stellenbosch. His career in the South African Armed Forces included being the founding commander of the Special Forces seaborne regiment and commanding the Special Forces School and Special Forces Brigade.

He was appointed as the Defence Adviser to the South African High Commission in Canada in 1995. On his return to South Africa, he was the Commandant of the South African Army College and subsequently a Director in the Military Legal Services.

Since his retirement, he has specialised in international ship and port security training and assessments.

Anthony Cole commenced his career in the SA Navy immediately upon matriculating.  He trained as a combat officer and graduated from Stellenbosch University with a B Mil degree.  His career followed the normal progression of sea and shore appointments interspersed with functional and developmental courses.

He held both sea and shore command appointments.  A unique aspect of his shore appointments was that the overwhelming majority of them were training related.  His last appointment was as Director Education, Training and Development (ETD) Systems Integrity for the SA National Defence Force at Defence Headquarters with the rank of Rear Admiral (Junior Grade).

After 32 years service he took early retirement and moved directly into the world of commercial training management and development of adults and has focused on maritime security training and assessments.
